Sending my biggest love to all my trans friends today. I’ll be here for you and will keep fighting for as long as it takes. You are my siblings and my community, and my world is a better place with you all in it. ❤️🏳️‍⚧️❤️

Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

The GCs are uniting in their grief over Rod Liddle's death, a man who assaulted his young pregnant girlfriend and said he couldn't be a teacher because he'd rape the kids. He was also a vicious racist, long before it was so profitable. He hated trans people, so, to these 'feminists' he's a hero.

We just lost someone I would never in a million years have been expected to be friends with, or probably even to have made peace with...

Gutted about Rod Liddle, he was a great man. I take huge pride in having been regular contributor to his show, and I appreciated his support for my writing very much. I know full well what the online sisterhood think about this but I don't care in the slightest.

Oh no! I really liked Rod, had a drink with him a couple of times, and did his show every month. He was always so kind about my work, and we had a total laugh every time I was on the programme. Awful news.

It's cool how Farage is plummeting in the national polls (relax, he's still definitely winning Clacton again) since the press collectively decided a couple of months back that they'd finally had enough of him but it would have been way cooler if they'd done that in, like, 2011.

In case anyone thought complete lack of justice for victims of sexual violence was an Anglosphere issue, this is a pretty horrific example from Norway. Despite testimony from one of their children that he physically restrained her during sex while the child was in the bed, her moving to a *locked*

Very disappointing from the new Prime Minister, very much sounding like the previous PM. These are among the world’s most vulnerable and desparate people. They need safe routes and humanity from responsible politicians, not grandstanding. This isn’t doing politics differently.

Burnham pledges to be "relentless" in curbing small boat crossings

This is the abuser’s playbook. Present a bunch of times your victim appeared “happy” and “normal” as evidence you couldn’t be abusive, even though it does nothing to disprove the claims and is in fact the textbook response to abuse, especially when a child is involved.

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

I’ve seen a lot of my colleagues’ interactions with Claude working on research problems & it would be easier for me to accept it as a serious scientific tool if it didn’t end every single response with the LLM equivalent of “you want fries with that?” — constantly trying to goad you into asking more

As I've said OVER AND OVER - it's better to NOT support us in the first place than to say you do then back down at the first sign of confrontation or hardship. That is literally just gaslighting us and is actually WORSE than those that just straight up oppose our existence.

Approximately 1 out of 3 women will experience sexual and/or physical abuse in their lifetime and you still have men claiming that allegations must be false because there are too many of them. It’s actually the opposite. The vast majority allegations will never become public

Women's Rights Network/Sex Matters took Feile to court to have their event reinstated. It was not reinstated. The two statements released after an agreement was reached give two very different impressions of what happened today in Belfast's High Court.

Statement from Féile an Phobail

Statement from Féile an Phobail

Féile an Phobail are delighted with today’s outcome at the High Court.

Today’s outcome is a vindication of Féile’s position in standing up for those who are marginalised.

Féile’s decision to withdraw this event from our programme stands.

The agenda of many of those who involved themselves in this issue was clear for all to see.

Many of the very same people line up every year to attack Féile at every turn, to attempt to damage Féile, and to attack the West Belfast community.

They will never succeed.

Féile an Phobail will continue to provide a voice for the marginalised, and we are looking forward to welcoming the world to West Belfast to join with us to celebrate Ireland’s biggest community festival.

Féile Abú!Statement from Women’s Rights Network Northern Ireland

WRN NI is delighted to have reached an agreement with Féile an Phobail which brings the current legal proceedings to an end.

The Judge congratulated the parties today, saying they both deserved credit for reaching a resolution in this difficult domain involving emotive issues.

Féile has agreed to meet with WRN NI to explore and discuss our potential participation in future Féile events, and we warmly welcome the opportunity for continued engagement.

Our women live, work, volunteer and support their communities across Northern Ireland. Our priority has always been to bring conversations about women’s sex-based rights into our festivals, workplaces, homes and communities, and to create spaces where women can come together and discuss the rights that affect their lives. We have done that, and we are immensely grateful for the support we have received over the past week, both publicly and privately. We hope this agreement marks the beginning of constructive engagement and greater opportunities for women’s voices and perspectives to be heard.

Our work continues. We look forward to the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI) Judicial Review later this year, where WRN NI will continue advocating for women’s sex-based rights and for the safety, privacy and dignity of women and girls across Northern Ireland.

And importantly, Respect, Rights & Reality will still go ahead on 4 August at an alternative venue. Further details will follow. We look forward to seeing you there.

How does their right to privacy survive contact with literally any other cisgender woman. If someone is undressing in a public space in front of completely random strangers then the right to privacy is gone already. That is not the same as a trans person's medical history being made public

If you're a trans person in England (or the parent or guardian of a young trans person in England) I strongly recommend doing this immediately. The new data principles for the shared NHS record in England - based on the transphobic and psuedoscientific Sullivan Review - are designed to out us.

notorious transfem supremacist@takeyourpillsalice.bsky.social · last wk.

You can opt-out of having a shared NHS record. I opted out over a decade ago now and it has never affected any of the medical care I receive except having to give new doctors a list of my medicine because they can't pull it off my GPs system. www.nhs.uk/using-the-nh...

1. Do not get angry with Jess for putting this out there. 2. We must not become despondent & give up. Piling on lots of nasty stuff at the same time shows that is what Burnham wants. 3. There are a whole load of reasons/ways to keep resisting however. This will cost Labour the next election.

A short thread explaining trans exclusion in the law, and the Code of Practice, in response to a load of questions 🧵 Obviously this is necessarily simplified. I cannot write a legal textbook on Bluesky.

But the guidance tells eg women's service that they must choose one of two options to lawfully operate 1) Ban trans women in order to rely on the single/separate sex exceptions 2) Become fully mixed-sex – that is to say, they must also admit cis men I think this is wrong in law.

This is Rowling's pinned tweet, and yet, just this week, she is funding legal cases against Féile Belfast and Amnesty International for exercising their free speech and fair opinion. She is using her massive wealth to terrorise these orgs into compilance, because she doesn't believe in free speech.

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.

If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.

If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.

If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.
