Apollo 11 (2019): I watched this with my mom and brother while visiting my hometown. It was their first time seeing it and they were on their phones the whole time. Couldn't be me. I was locked the fuck in.

me: the simpsons have four fingers on each hand so you’d think they’d live in a base 8 society but as far as I can tell there’s no evidence of that in the show my wife: *screaming during labor* the obgyn: hold on i want to hear more about this

The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973): Rock solid, if a little unambitious. Has a line I'll think about for a long time: "This life's hard, man. But it's harder if you're stupid." I will say that they should give some of these guys different haircuts; I confused Foley for Brown the first time I saw him

Sexy Beast (2000): This must rock so hard on the big screen, with "Peaches" blaring on the theater speakers and the extreme close-ups. Mostly it makes a life of crime seem pretty whack but man this scene in stylish. I love the line read of "This is a bloke you know."

Strangers On a Train (1951): Killer premise (thank you Ms. Highsmith) but sapped of energy throughout the middle third. "Barbara Morton kinda looks like Miriam & it sends Bruno into a fugue state" is a dumbass plot line & there is WAY too much tennis footage. The black & white really pops though

A still from Strangers on a Train (1951): A man walks into a midway with bright lights and a ferris wheel in the distance A still from Strangers on a Train (1951): A man wearing a tuxedo sits in a bed holding a pistol, illuminated by a lamp

A Few Good Men (1992): A great first half as the lawyers gather the facts of the case concluding with Dawson & Downey rejecting the plea deal. Once the trial starts, things get a bit more dodgy (my eyes nearly rolled out of my head when Dawson saluted Kaffee after the verdict was read).

Joint Security Area (2000): I am officially Park Chan-wook pilled. Great script but the lower production values make it kind of look like an episode of Law and Order. The ending is a bit too morose for me but man that middle section was pure magic. Favorite shot has to be the final image.
