*just finished part 1 of lonesome dove voice* the virgin dish boggett vs. the chad jake spoon
My friends and i are doing "lonesome dove summer" where we all read lonesome dove by larry mcmurtry but apparently everybody else is also having a lonesome dove summer because the wait-list at my local public library (college town with like 50k people) is 20 deep
I think this is the year that the wolves finally break through and make the knockout stage of the Emirates NBA Cup
Full 2026-27 Minnesota Timberwolves Schedule
yeah man "woke 1" sucked ass. I "woke 1" morning from uneasy dreams to find myself transformed into a giant insect
Stand Armstrong for the flag; Neil Armstrong for the cross
Apollo 11 (2019): I watched this with my mom and brother while visiting my hometown. It was their first time seeing it and they were on their phones the whole time. Couldn't be me. I was locked the fuck in.
Russ retiring is a like a giant neon light that reads "SOME DAY YOU TOO WILL DIE" to me
After 18 NBA seasons, Russell Westbrook has retired. A legendary career: NBA’s top 75, 2017 league MVP, nine-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA, USA Olympic Gold Medalist and the all-time record for triple-doubles.
Just sang lefty frizell at a packed karaoke bar. Electric atmosphere
me: the simpsons have four fingers on each hand so you’d think they’d live in a base 8 society but as far as I can tell there’s no evidence of that in the show my wife: *screaming during labor* the obgyn: hold on i want to hear more about this
just finished Lone Star (1996). Maybe the most inexplicable last five minutes of any movie i've ever seen
frankly shocked that Carlos Silva only did it once in 2005 (he had three other games with 7 IP, no walks and a single strikeout)
Bailey Ober is the first Twins pitcher to throw 6+ innings with 0 strikeouts and 0 walks since Livan Hernandez in 2008.
The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973): Rock solid, if a little unambitious. Has a line I'll think about for a long time: "This life's hard, man. But it's harder if you're stupid." I will say that they should give some of these guys different haircuts; I confused Foley for Brown the first time I saw him
It rocks so much that the wolves underperformed their point differential last season even though Ant was literally the most clutch player of all time
this article is so sick. also so many of these guys were either drafted by or subsequently played for the wolves lol
Every off-season, NBA teams take low-cost fliers on former lottery picks and stalled prospects. How often do these bets pan out? I looked at the historical data to find out. First article at the new site! Do Cheap Fliers on Failed Prospects Work? intheno.net/do-cheap-fli...
Boy it really helps to have Courtney Williams to make isos when teams double Miles late
Sexy Beast (2000): This must rock so hard on the big screen, with "Peaches" blaring on the theater speakers and the extreme close-ups. Mostly it makes a life of crime seem pretty whack but man this scene in stylish. I love the line read of "This is a bloke you know."
did either team have an empty possession from 9-9 to 21-21?
i don't usually like to participate in discourse but i need the lynx to bury the fever through the crust of the earth this afternoon
The movie is called Psycho because it's psychotic to steal money from work
Read this as "Ja Morant" and spend a while trying to figure out what Kermit would be saying about the trailblazers in German

going to be honest with you big man I heard fuck all when I put that shell to my ear, but for a fleeting moment the coolness of the shell against my ear soothed me
Strangers On a Train (1951): Killer premise (thank you Ms. Highsmith) but sapped of energy throughout the middle third. "Barbara Morton kinda looks like Miriam & it sends Bruno into a fugue state" is a dumbass plot line & there is WAY too much tennis footage. The black & white really pops though
A Few Good Men (1992): A great first half as the lawyers gather the facts of the case concluding with Dawson & Downey rejecting the plea deal. Once the trial starts, things get a bit more dodgy (my eyes nearly rolled out of my head when Dawson saluted Kaffee after the verdict was read).
Joint Security Area (2000): I am officially Park Chan-wook pilled. Great script but the lower production values make it kind of look like an episode of Law and Order. The ending is a bit too morose for me but man that middle section was pure magic. Favorite shot has to be the final image.
