very excited to celebrate one of Portland theatre’s high holy days, the annual one-night-only performance of Anonymous Theatre. they pick a play, each actor rehearses separately in secret, and everyone finds out together who is in it when they stand up from their seat to say their first line

I have some thoughts about the new Spider-man that I will try to draw a comic about but for now here is this prescient comic from *2016*
Oh hey! Did you know that the discovery of mastodon fossils in North America throughout the 1700s a) led to the concept of extinction being taken seriously AND b) helped people prove that life doesn't degenerate in the Americas?
so amazing that decades of digital dev have evolved near-universally to "we will make this product as annoying as possible to use"

I have a problem with trans people playing sports: There aren't nearly close to enough of them doing it, and we need to smash down the barriers preventing it, and generally preventing anyone trans from living their best, most fulfilling life. Fuck anyone who wants to stop, silence, or exclude them.
ICYMI: I turned my 'if i'm dead, look here' list into a fillable document where you can write down many important things someone needs to know after you die, like where your money is, what's autobilling and when, where to find your spare car keys, etc. www.realsesmith.com/the-list

amazing that the two main reasons my stomach might be mad at me are 1) i didn't eat any food and 2) i ate food. really good system we've got here
genAI food images look like an alien's attempt to trick a human into eating something that'll hatch inside you
One of the things I find so off-putting about AI generated imagery is just how overgreebled it is, it always adds too much detail, and when it comes to trying to depict food, it ends up looking like it's crawling with insects or triggering trypophobia, it's extremely off-putting.
Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald used to collaborate and record a lot of music together. One of my favorite things she'd sometimes do is impersonate Armstrong (to my personal delight.) How well do you think she did?
Louis Armstrong long believed his birthday to be July 4, 1900. He jokingly alludes to Dick Cavett that he "didn't ask his mom all that", and he's just "glad to here." Truth is, Armstrong didnt know his birthday. But now we know today marks 125 years since America's greatest musician was born
y'know, i love shit i don't understand. is it some new-to-me thing i now have the chance to learn about? amazing! is it a quirk of the human condition i've never considered before? rad! might i need to investigate my own discomfort? y'all this brain is ~spiced~, i have been training hard for this
