No small business can do this. No small business can afford this. This was no longer a choice, or an option. The latest PPWR is the final nail in the coffin. Here you can see a breakdown of the unreasonable bureaucracy expected of us. We'll miss you, Europe.

General reminder to anyone working at a digital company: If you cold call or try to schedule a meeting with the Head of Digital at a UK university two weeks before A Level results day, then I am NEVER buying your product or service. As you've clearly not bothered learning when UK HE is busiest.

National reviews of healthcare for trans children have been conducted by Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Japan, Holland and the state of Utah. None of them have concluded that gender-affirming healthcare should be banned. Cass is a total outlier.

See also: direct young people’s theatre and move on to ‘professional’ theatre. When you can deliver a professionally made show, on time, with a cast of 60, rehearsing for 2 hours a week you can DEFINITELY rehearse with circa 4 paid actors, full time, for 4 weeks with a full time production team 🤦🏻‍♀️

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 1378: Many would-be authors make the mistake of believing that you "start off" as a children's writer, then "move on" to writing for adults. This is both completely incorrect, and terribly disrespectful to children's authors.

3. Art is process, not product. You never stop acquiring technique, and you never stop deriving new ideas from new skill. Experienced artists are a living library, a resource of embodied know-how. If they have to stop working & teaching, that knowledge is lost, to the hobbyist as well as the pro.
