Mmmmmmugs in progress. After faffing on with waxing the liner glaze, my car dent puller won’t hold the bottom of that mug so it might have to be a finger marks-at-the-bottom one, which isn’t my preference but otherwise it’s a double dip and that’s worse

I really enjoy interacting with potters and enthusiasts online but I’m also socially inept so like, a guy replied to my story on IG and I’m happy to respond…. But his follow up reply was 4 messages a photo and a video and I’m so far outta my depth here.

Yesterday was a big day so today needs to be a small day. I haven’t even gotten to breakfast yet. Brewing a cuppa to take up with me to unload the bisque kiln. I’ve got mug blanks, if they’re not too dry by now. I have spoon rests, candlesticks & ringholders in my future. And a lot of tape.

Operation get-back-to-my-normal-activities took a hit tonight, as I struggled my way through the third week of pottery and ultimately had to leave early. First two weeks were manageable, so now my work is in not assuming it’ll always be like this, and feeling back to square one after a setback.

Done very little over the last little while, I am in a period of entirely low energy, but I did turn a mediocre bowl into this delightful thing through sheer time and effort. The shapes are stamped (with stamps I made!), filled with wet slip (2-3 times), then scraped back very carefully.

Glaze tests are done, here are the results up closer. Firstly, I took two crackle recipes and tested how much copper I could squeeze into them before they stopped crackling. They also blistered at about the same amount, and ran more, though they were applied thickly by design.
