Yes, this! ATProto devs are a lovely community but we need to spend 20x more time talking to users who aren't yet here and solving their problems.

Set up my @semble.so account and it seems promising! Integrated with Bluesky so you already have an "account" and don't even know it. Just released an early preview of Zemble, a @zotero.org plugin for @semble.so! - Augment you Zotero library with all of the activity happening on Semble/Atmosphere. - Easily save and view items in Zotero on Semble. - Publish Zotero collections as Semble collections.

I love wandering in a neighbourhood then finding a mini library. Semble is like the digital equivalent of that: take a link, leave a link. Let others discover your curated references. See what ppl are reading, etc. Now directly from Zotero!

Starting to get conspiratorial about how hard it is to Google atproto stuff. Why does "list of public atproto relays" not take me directly to pulsar.feeds.blue? For that matter, why does "pulsar.feeds.blue" not show up on Google whatsoever? There's no robots.txt, it's not that

And because I feel bad purely "taking" from the community, I've also built a skill that: 1. Extract links from my notes. 2. Saves links as cards. 3. Finds similar links and summarizes them. 4. Connects my links to existing ones.

It was really cool to see this setup unfold and helped me understand how Semble fits into an agent stack! Got to chat a bit about this with @laurenshof.online at #DWebCamp2026 too

Finding real, quotable examples is key to my blog writing workflow. Because Google and the default web search produce a lot of junk, I use Exa, HackerNews, web search, what I've already written, and internal company docs to do this, and I recently added @semble.so to this stack.

Step 2: we index the text from records, and extract urls. This let us search records and urls from the universal search box in Beaver. If the page you browse is a known urls, you can check who in your ATProto graph has mentioned it.

Social graph portability is a legitimate ecosystem moat! Only atproto apps can invite big bsky accts to a new social app while bringing their audience with them. It's a win-win: more exposure for atproto apps (referrals from big acct's) & more channels for connecting w/ an audience for creators.

A web extension that colors any link you've saved on @semble.so orange.

Here's why Semble is different: Semble is not a 'social network'. All the content, all the social connections made by people *is* the network. Semble *provides access* to this network, which is valuable. But the network itself can outgrow and outlive any single product.

HTTP gave us hypertext, atproto gives us "social hypertext"
