Y'all. . .it's been a year. Literally a year since Miss Fanny almost died from her heart attack and the world has come back for our necks. Literally my neck. Fanny got ringworm and gave me the ringworm. With our medical/cleaning fees. . . my savings are wiped out. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry women who survive abuse don't talk about it on your preferred timeline and would sometimes prefer not to talk about it at all but feel forced to do so because they feel a moral urgency as they watch their abusers get platformed even though they know they're going to get horrific backlash.

People on awards shows don't "make it political." The world is political. Our lives are political. Our choices are political. The only decision is whether to acknowledge it.

Did you know that during perimenopause your inner ear itches like a motherfucker? Because I sure do! You also smell phantom odors, alongside a billion other random symptoms, but the ear thing is annoying me most right now.

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

Greetings, new friends! You may know me as an author, a prolific Bluesky poster and 4th place finisher on So You Call That Dancing? But you might not know that my partner Judith (@mzpress) and I have an online arts bookstore that's growing every day. Full inventory here: mzs.press/EVERYTHING-W...

The covers of three books. Left to right: Gandolfini: Jim, Tony, and the life of a legend, about the late Sopranos actor. The cover shows Gandolfini looking shy, peering offscreen with one unobstructed eye and another that peeks out between the fingers of his right hand.
CENTER: The cover of Cinema Her Way, a coffee table book by Marya E. Gates about female directors. On the cover is actress Michelle Rodriguez as the boxer heroine of Karyn Kusama's sports drama Girlfight, about a woman boxer.
RIGHT David Hockney's painting collection The Arrival of Spring in Normandy, showing a painting of a verdant field. In the background of the field is green grass. in the upper foreground are the branches of a tree sprouting white, cottony buds.

Bless THE PITT for adding mullet lesbians to the cast. I’m currently searching for a nice lady who enjoys answering questions like, “Hey babe, why is the ceiling fan making that noise?” so I appreciate it.

I keep going to bed earlier and earlier to escape the micro and macro horrors. Surely I will eventually lap myself in the space-time continuum and create a second Jessica who will either help me navigate life or enable a much-needed bloody catharsis by engaging in a battle to the death with me.
