IIRC, Katsushi Murakami was the one who pushed for Machine Robo to have the same level of engineering and quality as larger deluxe toys but in a small, affordable package that kids could buy with pocket money. He basically created a whole new paradigm for toys.

Rebecca Heineman's source code disks for Apple II, Apple IIGS, and C64 versions of "Tass Times in Tonetown" were recently imaged at KansasFest 2026 and are now archived. Burger Becky was an incredible and beloved engineer and raconteur who we sadly lost last year. archive.org/details/tass...

I'm trembling while writing this: Kamaitachi no yoru—not the PC remake, not the iOS port, but the actual original SFC version—has been translated at last by ButThouMust, who graciously brought us an English patch for Otogirisou in the past. This is HISTORICAL.

@gonemage.bsky.social do you think there is a difference between nu metal bands steeped in funk vs computer nerds? On a cultural level? I feel Mike Shinoda, Amir Derakh, hell, Rhys Fulbar in Fear Factory, really seem like computer nerds, would not in other circumstances travel in the same circles.
