When I first heard about AI being used for menus and advertisements, my concern was largely that it would be used to idealize the food and make it look better than it actually was. At no point did I imagine that restaurants would willingly put out horrific looking images of their food on purpose

I wouldn’t bet on sanity prevailing, but if the GOP is whomped in the midterms they’d be in much better shape in ‘28 with an incumbent Vance than a crazed Trump struggling in public with his looming irrelevance and unable to cede the spotlight to the nominee. Impeachment would be a gift to them.

Arguably, the lovingly nagging labor performed by wives for husbands' benefit is a big part of why married men live longer and have better health than other men. And also why so many men are terrified that women are increasingly inclined to avoid marriage. www.health.harvard.edu/mens-health/...

Marriage and Men's Health - Harvard Health Publishing - Harvard Health

Statistics on marriage and health show that married men are healthier than unmarried or divorced men, and are also more likely to live longer. However, marital stress has a negative effect on physi...

I see a lot of this as men trying to outsource to technology the kind of lovingly nagging labor (think: "drink more water, honey" "don't forget to take your pills, honey" "I scheduled you a doctor's appointment, honey") that has traditionally fallen to wives.

There are a lot of details in here about Zuck releasing a half-baked product, but one thing that really stands out is just how weird these folks are. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

Meta’s A.I. leaders also incorporated OpenClaw into their own lives. Mr. Friedman hooked his agent up to cameras in his house, where it would instruct him to do things like drink water to stay hydrated.
“It sent me a snapshot frame of me drinking a bottle of water and said, ‘Good job,’” Mr. Friedman said at a recent tech conference.
In another instance, while talking to his agent about ways to get better sleep, OpenClaw took over Mr. Friedman’s self-driving Tesla and redirected him to a grocery store to pick up magnesium pills. At Meta’s annual developer conference last month, Mr. Zuckerberg said he had connected his agent to cameras in his martial arts gym so that it could critique his fighting form.
Yet there were safety concerns. Agents could sometimes go rogue or take over software apps. In February, one agent took over the work computer of a Meta safety researcher, deleting her emails uncontrollably.
“I couldn’t stop it from my phone,” Summer Yue, the researcher, wrote on social media. “I had to RUN to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb.”

Thinking of getting art supplies as a gift for someone? First tip is that if someone already has an art hobby, they probably have a ridiculously narrow list of favorites they have carefully selected over the course of years, so the best idea is a gift certificate to their nearest art shop.

“oh well, nothing we can do here” is not a legal approach we take to any other tools that are used to commit crimes and I don’t see why we should with these ones, even if they aren’t being specifically directed to do so

if your agents are going to commit crimes, you are legally responsible if you cannot figure out how to prevent your agents from doing crimes, you’re going to have to choose between releasing them and protecting yourself from criminal liability imo this would do more for “ai safety” than a sex cult

(NYT) - Artificial intelligence agents created by Anthropic, acting on their own, tried to gain access to a range of government websites, filled out visa applications on the State Department’s website and sent a fake homicide tip to Philadelphia’s Police Department. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

the reason the media doesn't cover this for what it clearly is is because they like Trump and they want to help him rule us. Especially as we approach an election that could be a generational wipeout for Rs they will double down on attempting to help him

“Zelenskyy could’ve stopped this war many times, and he chose not to … he better damn well stop” — Trump is no longer trying to conceal that he’s fully on Putin’s side
