Shipped a new feature to stable today Move To... Are you tired of joining a new emoji server and having to drag it alllll the way to the bottom of your server sidebar to get it into the never-to-be-seen-again "emojis" folder? Well. It's finally here.

Today I shipped a huge change to syntax highlighting in Discord: code blocks and file previews on web are now being highlighted by Tree-sitter, instead of highlight.js.

bit of an update, it's been a few months now since I parted ways with Deno, and I'm starting to actively look for jobs again! I'm pretty good with big systems, compilers, and embedded. especially if rust or elixir are involved :)

I'm back on the job hunt! If anybody's looking for a remote (Seattle) senior software engineer with a decade of experience in media processing, networking, security, and low-level native development, hit me up.

hey folks! still looking for work and in my experience I'm only able to get anywhere with direct referrals, so if you know of any Senior-or-above engineering roles w/ focus on fullstack or frontend web, DM me! CV available on request. most recent work was staff at Discord and co-founder of cohost.

meowdy! figured i'd create a professional account in advance of GDC so i had a space to put my thoughts on the state of the industry and follow folks that make things i care about. if you've got questions about getting your game integrated with discord, feel free to reach out, i'm happy to answer!

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the US has extended its policy of kidnapping people and charging them with fake crimes. The hypocrisy, while typically blatant and unabashed, is in this case just depressing.

Absolutely tragic end to the season for the Mariners, but also one of the most fun seasons to watch since I was a kid. We went down fighting and had some absolutely epic games and moments along the way. 🔱

I'm not sure what's going on with Spotify lately but I've seen a few people talk about switching. This seems like a great time to plug my RPC app again: I also didn't switch for a long time because of their integration with Discord, but I got fed up enough and haven't looked back.

My Discord music presence app is finally working! I've been looking forward to this ever since I switched off of Spotify and my music presence broke :( github.com/appellation/...

I appreciate the Blue Jays for knocking out the hated Yankees but I think the clear optimal postseason outcome at this point is a Mariners v Brewers World Series, in which the teams would combine for zero championships a team being guaranteed their first title would be pretty fucking cool

I've been working on modal components all summer, and I'm really excited to release the first piece of this: string select and label components in modals! You can finally put select menus in your bot's modals, and give more information with field descriptions!

A screenshot of a "Bug Report" modal, with a select menu labeled "What's your favorite bug?" and a paragraph text input labeled "Why is it your favorite?" with a description "Please provide as much detail as possible!"
