One of the things that made re-reading Raymond's memoir really interesting is that he's a rare beast, a member of the British upper classes who was antifascist to the bone, and who understood fascism as the cruelty of bores towards people they couldn't impress any other way.

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

If you are looking for someone to feel better than today a cat just had projectile diahorrea all over me on a busy bus. On the bright side though it was Maddies cat so she now owes me. This picture was just before we took her to the vets. Now we all have the long stare of the permanently traumatised

I read about Amnesty International complaining that if they actually defended trans people, they would be sued into oblivion by JKR, and I think they missed the fact that they have now destroyed themselves: Nobody is gonna give time or money to an org that folds to pressure on human rights.

So much so, it makes me think of my inability to see anything in my head aswell, we just find workarounds and dont even know we are lacking things other people have, because no one declares straight out they have them, its a given. But it isnt.

Whilst simultaneously those very same people are relatively high functioning/have had a lifetime of finding work arounds and presenting as "normal" as possible, so the journos look at those people and think "well, if thats ADHD/autism, it isn't that bad. Surely all of these people can easily work?"
