Wad of smoke. Treaty 1 territory. Not even mad.
Looking like writing letters and signing petitions isn’t gonna cut it. People of conscience are going to have to put their own bodies in the way, or provide material support to those who can. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

The coolest thing about being a Canadian is right now if I pay my taxes, I’m not paying for public service, I am paying for infrastructure for foreign; (mostly US) fossil fuel corporations and subsidizing them on top of that.
The coolest thing about being an American right now is if I pay my taxes I'm not paying for better infrastructure, roads, or social services. I'm paying for some guy across the ocean to shoot a kid in the head with a sniper rifle. Oh, and I'm paying for his health care too.

Here's the thing, Canada's economy did fine before we ceded our sovereignty to these corporate investor class protection rackets they call free trade, and will do so after. Our governments are captured by corporations, which is why they are so married to these harmful pacts
It's because she's a democratic socialist and Carney is a neoliberal banker. He doesn't want home prices to drop or more people to be housed. There has to be a permanent and growing underclass of poverty to keep the ultra wealthy as rich as possible
Claudia Sheinbaum's government is using public power to build homes, operate affordable rentals, and renegotiate unpayable mortgages. Canada continues to subsidize developers and hope the market fixes a crisis it created. Mexico is showing that another path is possible.
I’ve wanted to find this path I’ve seen on satellite for a while, and finally did today. But alas, the bridge is closed for repair. You get to it behind Mulvey Market and it leads to the Forks.
This is how democratic norms erode. Trump is turning counterterrorism into a tool to target the political left, and Canada is showing up to legitimize it. We should be defending democracy and civil liberties, not giving credibility to authoritarian politics. www.thestar.com/politics/fed...

Even before Carney, for every dollar Canada invested in renewable energy, we spent $19 on expanding fossil fuels. Now we've abandoned any climate action beyond the most dishonest lip service, fully devoted to maximizing climate warming at top speed. environmentaldefence.ca/2026/07/09/n...
