Behold, a steaming pile of self-serving dung from a recent Globe and Mail op-ed by two business leaders. Reality: the province is suffocating clean energy, no business has “stepped up” to build or fill the pipeline, and oil companies are minting massive profits for themselves, not the federation.
Also: if there's long-term demand growth (and supportive pricing), what's the big rush? It's almost like these guys know the gig is about to be up and they need to squeeze as much government support out as possible before it's obvious.
There is a real sense that they were supposed to be grateful the pandemic was “over,” but all of these things in their lives were worse than before. And now, the way things got worse feels unspeakably permanent.
It matters what rich and influential people say about democracy in Canada because rich and influential people have outsized power to shape our public policy and institutions.
