just ignore the typo behind the curtain

The number of people who do not know that Trump has once again been credibly accused, THIS WEEK, of rape or sexual misconduct by 5 different women while in or near the presence of Jeffrey Epstein... is truly shocking to me. I know the legacy press is trying to bury it, but Christ alive it's working

Most universities aren't run by professors and educators. They're run by the MBAs, investment firm execs, and billionaires on their boards. So they're embracing "A.i." to enrich the rich and killing their educational mandate. Absolute garbage that will destroy them.

Cool kind of citizen-science on carbon removal here. one detail that stuck out: "Our study shows that if we were to implement regenerative row cropping systems on a national scale, that it represents the best climate solution currently available. And farmers don’t lose money or productivity."

MTH@megt.bsky.social · 9h ago

Researchers reported that advanced regenerative farms stored nearly 40% more carbon in soil compared to the conventional farm controls and if all field crops used these methods, the equivalent of 1.5 years of US greenhouse gas emissions could be stored in soil. 🌎🌱 civileats.com/2026/10/26/s...

the point is to wear us down until we're apathetic about the horrors. thats why cultivating joy, nurturing wonder, and building soft moments is critical. you need a breather from the awful or else your brain will be permanently exhausted. which is what our enemies want. don't let them win!

It will never not fuck me up that Anthropic is like "hello our product may end humanity" and the market is like "sure, a $1.6 T valuation makes sense, take our money."

The NY Times will publish a hit piece on the Democratic Alaska senate candidate six days before an Election but won't mention a new rape allegation against the President of the United States.

The NYT devoting two pieces to the Cheesecake Factory "controversy" and none to the latest rape allegations against POTUS is a good reminder that there is no attack against Obama bad faith enough that the press doesn't amplify it, while with Trump when the charges are horrendous, caution abounds.

"Why we're adding AI" - Because you don't remotely value or respect your employees. You care more about revenue than your product or value to the user. You don't appreciate the humans who created the vast library of content in your archives, nor care about devaluing their work by this decision.

My piece on why protest is not just important, but integral to democracy - especially the at best democracy-adjacent gov'ts we have at the moment- and surveying some of the wonderful pieces in last month Protest in Democracy spotlight: globalvoices.org/2026/10/21/p...

Protest as a pillar of democracy

This spotlight is, then, a form of protest in its own right: a way of reasserting that protest is legitimate, important for democracy, and everywhere.

just a reminder that weight stigma is not just stressful experiences or being made to feel bad about your body, it also includes systemic medical neglect and/or iatrogenic harm important to remember in an era of We Fixed Fatness with Medicine (After Medically Neglecting Fat People for Generations)

I'm not responding person, but someone was trying to justify the NYT using AI to scale recipes by saying "what if you have to go from cups to tablespoons..." and I cannot believe our stupid system of measurement is getting people to think it's okay to boil the oceans.

One Titan submersible of the worst people who have ever fucking lived, enabling half of one 747 worth of assholes, to sound like they are a whole enormous demographic, a vast roaring crowd.

We've known, for going on a decade, that like 90% of far right content is being funded and churned out by like a dozen guys. One Titan submersible worth of billionaire sex pests goes KATHUNK and there goes the ability of any random bigot to get their Nazi bullshit beamed directly into your face.
