A reminder that Rafael Behr was so scared of mild social democracy in the UK that it gave him a heart attack which he claimed it was caused by Corbyn's antisemitism. Antisemitism which he is so relaxed about he's now endorsing someone who was jailed for it.
Me: (a smart columnist, looking at claims made by an ex-Tory neo-Nazi booted out of the party for crimes, now standing as a Tory councillor whole doing a rehabilitation tour parroting the agreed media line in his new “anti-extremism” gig) This is extremely convincing stuff, and very worrying.
The "cranks" who pointed out the antisemitism accusations were smears made in the absolute worst, most cynical bad faith were 100% correct. And the likes of Michael Richmond, Tom Gann and Archie Woodrow were marks absolutely played by the ruling class www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

This is all horrific stuff, and I invite you to go back to 2018/19 and reread her columns, newspaper interviews and podcast appearances talking about it, and then decide who it sounds like it was, that had been doing all this.
Bluesky when I’m on earlies, between 1am and 05:30 is the last true wilderness. Just me, a lukewarm instant coffee, and forty thousand yanks furious about a senator I’ve never heard of in a state I couldn’t locate under torture. Then the map-game autistes stir and civilisation returns.

I do try to be supportive of local ventures, but they don't make it easy. Look at the absolute state of this new signage they're crowing about. www.facebook.com/share/p/1JxK...

Jimmy Cricket's death didn't raise a single news flash alert. Yet he had a papal knighthood for his charity work. William Caulfield called him "one of the most generous and lovely people to work with", while comedian Ted Robbins said he was "one of the last great comics"
Remember, variations on "don't speak ill of the dead" just mean "I liked that person".
Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.
Finally, there's an *economic* coin-trick: "AI will destroy jobs." Sure, yes, AI is destroying jobs. But there's a vast difference between "You got fired because an AI can do your job" and "You got fired because your boss was convinced that the AI can do your job, even though it *cannot*." 45/

The State Department said it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.
Well curated timeline here rejoicing in Liddle's death. I think the sensible lads are shitting themselves because it turns out there are consequences to what you say. People will, correctly, think you're a cunt if you're a cunt. A paedo racist wife beating cunt, let's not forget.
The honest assessment here has to be that the man was paid to be as much of a cunt as he could about absolutely everything, and he excelled at it because he enjoyed being one. But nobody can say that, because it raises questions about what exactly it is *they* are paid to do.
Haters focusing on Liddle's violence toward his pregnant partner, his galloping racism, or his repeated defences of paedophilia, should remember to mention he was also one of the worst writers to ever do it. A calorie-free hack of the first water. Just absolute dogshit, back to front.
Seeing the heartfelt defences of Liddle from those few brave souls prepared to peer over the parapet to defend their friend, I've had to think again about my initial reaction. So it is then, that after a great deal of soul-searching and solomn contemplation, I now realise I was right; he was a cunt.
If I'd been a friend of Liddle's I'd probably be asking myself why I was friends with someone who was clearly a cunt, rather than having a go at people on here for merely pointing out he was a cunt, and being dead doesn't change that.
Just wondering who’ll be first out of the blocks tomorrow with a ‘Vile Bluesky lefties shame Britain with cruel glee over death of humorous fwend uwu smol bean Rod Liddle’ and guessing probably… Alison Pearson
