It's crazy to find out that yes, this whole time, small business people DID actually want cartoon mascots to promote their businesses on the sides of their trucks and on billboards, they just didn't want to pay anyone for it. Then ai finally came along and solved that for them. How truly American.

Protests that started in Spain and then spread to France and Brazil have now started in Belgium. People are sick of being told there is 'no money' by billionaires who are becoming trillionaires.

I called a bunch of people today to ask: what can Mamdani actually do to keep ICE out of NYC? The answer? Legally, not much. But advocates on the left say he can do more than offer harsh words for Trump and ICE. And he can start with his own NYPD theintercept.com/2026/10/09/i...

ICE Shooting in NYC Inflames Mamdani’s Policing Problem

After ICE shot a young father in Manhattan, New Yorkers asked the mayor to protect them from his police department and federal agents alike.

We released a new report in partnership with @amnesty-usa.bsky.social that analyzes how colleges and universities unconstitutionally targeted pro-Palestinian protestors from 2023 to today, and provides recommendation on ways to protect academic freedom.

Cream graphic titled "How Colleges and Universities Can Protect Free Speech on Campus". The first bullet reads "Protect Free Speech of All Students and ensure that campus policies on political speech are viewpoint neutral." The second bullet reads "Refuse demands from the government that undermine academic freedom". The third bullet reads "Don’t adopt vague or overly broad policies against discrimination or harassment that chill political speech". The last bullet reads "Avoid deploying law enforcement and crowd control weapons during peaceful campus protests". At the bottom there are protest signs reading "Protect Free Speech" and logos for the ACLU and Amnesty International.

I think one of the things that makes Gaza so exceptional is that it is not only a genocide, but it is the world's most obvious genocide, whose perpetrators go on TV to say "we are going to do a genocide" and then make social media posts going "genocided 'em lol".

I really do not think that you belong in government in this moment if you lack the historical understanding of what we have wrought, as it now boomerangs back on us.

"We don't want to turn into a banana republic, so we won't try to rein in corporations" is the kind of thing you say if you don't know what makes a banana republic a banana republic, and instead want to be a banana republic where the bananas are data centers.

If you’re an average college student, the 10-year Treasury hasn’t been this high in your lifetime. It’s at levels not seen since 2002. This is a blow to a generation that is already set to struggle with housing affordability.

A chart of the 10-year US Treasury, with a blue line rising to 5.339%on the chart. Yellow text says it is a new 52-week high today.

This money is absolutely meaningless to Elon Musk, but it has the potential to completely rewrite your future. He's spent over $36 million in about 4 weeks, and he's adding millions a day. All to corrupt our government to push his agenda. Let your friends know what's up.

the Ohio Democratic party is purging its ranks by forcing trans people to either resign or go along with politicians who threaten their existence and calling a pride group an "unwelcoming distraction." If we're just a distraction, then win without our votes and get rid of the fake "pride" orgs 👍🏾

Today, I resigned as Vice Chair of the ODP Pride Caucus. The state party expects us to be a sales team, censoring our voices when we beg candidates not to trade on trans lives. I am still a Democrat, but I will not value party approval over true, defiant advocacy. Full text below. 👇

Part 1 of an open letter of resignation by Arienne Childrey, stepping down as Vice Chair and member of the Ohio Democratic Party (ODP) Pride Caucus. She states that party leadership treats the caucus as a recruitment and sales team rather than a representative body. She cites an incident where the ODP censored and denied permission for the caucus to post a letter by two trans leaders addressing harmful comments made by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton. The State Party Chair reportedly called the letter an "unwelcome distraction," which Childrey notes demonstrates how little party leadership values the voices and dignity of LGBTQ+ Democrats.
