THE SPACE RACE, @katemessner.com's latest HISTORY SMASHERS book, mixes history & humor, sharing facts & dispelling misconceptions to give #MGLit readers a comprehensive overview of history of space programs run by the US & USSR. Perfect for readers interested in space after the Artemis II launch.

Cover of middle grade nonfiction book HISTORY SMASHERS: THE SPACE RACE by Kate Messner. A series of astronauts, including a monkey and a dog, floating in spacesuits against a blue background.

Kids might be in a grocery store and see books written for adults so something MUST be done. Kids...have to see the racist rapist as president. A couple of books published for adults on a high shelf at Aldi aren't a problem. Jesus, y'all need to just parent YOUR kid, not everyone else's.
