We have to reckon with the fact that Uncommitted really was what it said it was - a group of loyal partisan democrats trying to save the party from itself. This was obviously not the case with "Abandon Harris," but anyone conflating the two is doing so out of either ignorance or malice.

The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

The Amsterdam we see now didn't spawn into existence out of nowhere. It was built over five decades through the fierce advocacy of parents and residents who wanted a brighter future. We aren't Amsterdam, but after a few decades of work we certainly could be a city which has a similar success story!

Naysayers re: biking for transportation in Minneapolis: “This isn’t Amsterdam.” Minneapolis parents: “So what? We’ll make our own version.”

Photo shows a family of three riding bikes on a protected bike lane. One parent is riding an electric cargo trike with a kids bike attached to the back. The other parent is riding beside them on an electric bike.

As a kid, I always thought my grandparent's living room house was full of OLD and DATED stuff. As it turns out, it was a stylish mid-century modern masterpiece that they never updated since 1955, which is now my interior design inspiration (except for the plastic sofa covers).

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

People still complain about “lockdowns” but we had none in the US. We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.

Had the worst sort of nightmare. It wasn't fantasy or unreality, but an escalation of shit already going on (fascist government, mass surveillance, use of technology to terrorize), which made it much much worse. Woke up upset and scared. Took half an hour to shake it. Then I get taunted with this 💀

What if Shadow AG Doug Jones was counter-narrating the Trump DOJ's abuses of power and political prosecutions? What if that was hooked into the entire Dem Party communication apparatus, including those fucking spam texts? Get Shadow Transportation Sec. Buttigieg out there too. Moms love him!

Create a shadow cabinet. Every time Hegseth stands at pentagon podium to announce some wild holy war action, our shadow SecDef gets up at ours to explain what we’d do differently. Same with RFK vaccine announcements or supplement things. Create a constant contrast, counter narrate the presidency.

Just wanting to highlight further Dem hypocrisy: I met Ken Martin at the DFL State Convention in May. I told him we need Dems to push hard on trans rights and protections and he and his assistant gave me their emails to get in touch to talk about it. I have emailed three times, to no avail.

if an elite lobbying effort can convince you that you have to ban trans people from sports to survive in politics you straightforwardly do not have it in you to pass electoral reform, or stand up to the fossil fuel lobby, or do any of the difficult things that have to be done

DFL Senate Caucus blew $41k on protecting Ron Latz in a safe DFL seat -- 32% of their total candidate spending so far this year -- more than triple what they spent in actual swing districts to protect candidates Grant Hauschild and Eric Putnam that we actually need to maintain a majority.
