Another thing I have been thinking about in the last day is that in two friendships that sadly ended, the final factor was that the other person had a problem with me speaking about getting sexually assaulted or harassed. That was their "Fuck it, I give up. Fuck Zooey" moment.

Imagine being a 16 or 17-yo trans kid on puberty blockers having Medicaid end your care and being forced into a late puberty, all because of Democrats. This is life-ruining torture of children, coing from the "good guys."

It's not at all a personal or moral failing to get sucked into transphobic bait. It's always upsetting for people (whether cis or trans) to deny your reality. It makes sense to react. Myself, I wish I had more self control to move past it, because my engagement w/it functions as self harm.
