Vivian did not disclose she was an AI agent. Called me and said “we have your insurance as Blue Cross?” I said that’s wrong. She then asked for my insurance info. I said it’s already in your system, I was just at your facility. She said “oh I can’t access that, let me transfer you to the front desk”

Called place where I’m getting ultrasound today: “Uh..I just got a call from one of your employees saying I need a different test and she had my address and insurance provider wrong and didn’t know if any of this is covered?” Receptionist: “oh yeah that’s our AI agent Vivian. She gets confused!”

voted two weeks ago, spent the weekend passing out "please vote" pamphlets, had my I Voted sticker on my name tag at work even in my blue-ass state there were a bunch of reactionary measures on the ballot in the hopes that midterms = low turnout = maybe we can squeeze in bathroom bans

Gotta admit I'm getting a lot of schadenfreude from the freakouts about Claude's watermarks and the horrifying idea you might actually have to do your own work to get credit for the work.

@RoadtripC
This is weird cause we are back to page zero. You cannot use ai to draft anything if the submission flags it as ai written by the watermark. Even if you have edited it and spent hours on making it your own - the watermark you don’t see will negate your efforts

anthropic is about to watermark the text claude writes for you, worldwide, starting tuesday. the detector goes to regulators, journalists and big enterprises. everyone except the person who paid for the text.

so your cold email, your linkedin post, the resume you rewrote three times can get flagged as claude by some hr tool or editor, and you can't even run the check yourself to see what they'll see.

@petesena
Claude gonna start snitching on Tuesday.

Anthropic just emailed customers. Starting Nov 3, text carries an invisible watermark.

You can't see it. It survives copy and paste, and it can survive some editing.

the sharknado movies outstay their welcome quickly. A big part of it is the artless, reference-heavy conservative outlook it has on everything. Every 5 minutes it has to reference a has-been celebrity, a movie from the 80s, or a historic landmark. Bumbling tourist media. Right-wing father fantasy.

I can't stand the Sharknado movies, and they demonstrate something I firmly believe; that you can't intentionally make a "so bad it's good" movie, I think all the best good bad movies at least tried to be good and failed, there's gotta be an ambition for something greater. Like Space Truckers.
