'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

my favorite religious theory is that "biblically accurate angels" is just someone tripping balls who encountered a peacock for the first time

Ruby-throated Hummingbird facing off with a gray squirrel! I had to move the sugar water when our bald cypress tree lost some limbs in the last storm. The According to the Ruby-throated Hummingbird, too many squirrels are now showing an interest! 🪶 🌿

Foreground has a shiny green hummingbird back - wings out holding a hover - soft focused gray squirrel coming down a cypress trunk and looking at the hummingbird

Less than a month ago, this little unit was a black ball of fluff with long legs and toes. Now this junior Sora is completely independent, can even jump/fly, and is VERY serious about hunting aquatic invertebrates and other insects! #Birds 🪶

A baby Sora, about a month old, walks on some fallen reeds in a marsh with green algae mats covering the water.
It is mottled brown and grey, with long yellow legs and toes.
It is seriously hunting and is stretched forward with its beak almost touching the water. Its little tail is jacked up as Sora’s often do!
