“Illegally detaining and brutalizing a racial minority until they agree to flee the country” isn’t immigration enforcement, it’s ethnic cleansing. There’s no legal standard here - these people meet the standard! What differentiates them is not their legal status but their race and color.
Many stories of illegal detention (while still in active TPS status) and just brutal treatment in detention. People so brutalized that they ask to be deported— one man asked every week — but remained detained for 6 additional weeks! He could have been put on several previously deportation flights!
It is, in fact, possible to impeach and remove President Trump from office next week. It won't happen, however, because Republicans also support Putin and Russia and agree with Trump.
Wow — listen to these new comments from Trump. Thanking Putin, trashing Zelenskyy, characterizing Russia as eager for peace and Ukraine as intransigent. The mask is totally off.
Quick story. My op-ed on how corporations that kept their DEI programs performed just as well financially was accepted & factchecked at TIME Magazine. Just needed "pro forma review by the legal department." Suddenly the piece is spiked Why? Benioff owns TIME and wants to ingratiate himself to Trump
It's already illegal. Congress banned it near-unanimously in 2022. That law allows the ban to be lifted only if Russia withdraws from Ukraine. He's simply breaking the law that's already on the books.
Republican US Rep Brian Fitzgerald tweets that he will introduce a bill to block purchases of Russian oil. Don Bacon (R-Neb) tweets that he will co-sponsor. Obviously this won’t happen during campaigning recess (and Trump could veto anyway) but interesting push-back on Trump.
And it is WILD that this context is not repeated by the media every single time he opens his mouth about Ukraine.
Yall wanna see a puppy with hiccups getting mad

Troy Jackson: "The gentleman's name was Johan Sebastian Guerrero. He had a 3 year old daughter. The only mistake he made that morning was going to work. Because Sen. Collins is not willing to stand up to Donald Trump, he was murdered in the streets of Biddeford for doing nothing wrong."

Nothing pithy or view-from-nowhere-journalisty to say about this. Pete Hegseth needs to be removed from public office, at a bare minimum, and as soon as possible.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says the public will be able to watch the Fort Hood shooter's execution
this is honestly one of the worst and most irresponsible things he has ever posted, and that's really saying something
Trump tries to start a race war: "The once Great State of Minnesota is being taken over by Somali Immigrants ... The Somalians should not be allowed to get away with what they are doing. They view you as weak and stupid people. Fight back Minnesota, fight back!"
the Vice President of the United States has gone on record citing this man as one of his biggest intellectual influences if you didn't know this, it's probably because for some reason literally no mainstream political media outlets think it's worth mentioning
"boo hoo south asians are outhustling me" skill issue bro, life as a white American dude is life on the absolute easiest setting
Brendan Carr is illegally destroying U.S. media consolidation limits so that Trump-friendly local broadcast TV companies (Sinclair, Nexstar, Tegna) can all merge and pummel local TV news consumers with propaganda. This is even pissing off major cable companies, who say it's unfair to them:
Cable lobby to sue Trump FCC over repeal of national TV ownership cap
Cable industry to sue, says FCC can't repeal TV ownership limit set by Congress.

Got a weird one for you guys tonight www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
How do I know Hegseth’s order to deny access to bases to members of Congress is about a cover up, not about safety? Because I asked for a military briefing at the embassy as a substitute and was told the policy prohibited military leaders in the region from even talking to me.
You could make a daily front page series out of “things today that prove Donald Trump is cognitively impaired. Doesn’t happen. You could do the same with his lying. Every day “The lies told by the most dishonest man ever to serve.” Doesn’t happen.

I think Greg is correct, but Americans need to be aware that Magyar’s Tisza government is aggressively going after every Fidesz official, removing them, using every lever of the state to yank them out of power. This is far more aggressive and rapid than anything proposed in the US so far.
Something big may be happening: Trump's world-historical misrule may be creating the conditions for the emergence of a coalition similar to the one that ousted Viktor Orban earlier this year: Anti-corruption, anti-authoritarian, pro-democracy. I made this case here: newrepublic.com/article/2161...
The fact that a few friends and family members of the president just kinda wander the world soliciting billion-dollar bribes ostensibly to "end wars" is a real "it would all be very unpopular if you could convince people it was happening" sorts of deals

The conservative justices are free to hold Supreme Court expansion illegal, but it’s going to be embarrassing to be in a 6-to-48 minority
Today is a great day to share the new party line: #DoubleTheFederalJudiciary. All we need is simple majorities in both houses of Congress to change the number of district court, appellate, and SCOTUS judges. Not 60 votes to impeach, not 3/4 to change Constitution; simple majorities. That's it.
The conservative justices are free to hold Supreme Court expansion illegal, but it’s going to be embarrassing to be in a 6-to-48 minority
I agree with this take but one problem is that it's not clear the Supreme Court would uphold court expansion either (there is an effort on the right to cook up legal arguments for why it's not constitutional)
In some ways, the biggest difference between me and a person who is "successfull in media" is this clip right here. Thompson is summoning every ounce of her strength to sit there and listen to sports praise of a sexual predator. I'd... lose my shit and get fired.
iso cam on Charissa Thompson as she's forced to listen to praise of a rapist
