Trauma clinician here. Even if those kids are released tomorrow they will never be fully released from the trauma of their incarceration. They may leave Dilley, but they will never completely leave Dilley behind them. The impact is forever. That is what our government chooses to do to children.

Important to understand that the purpose of these laws is to convert unhoused people into slave labor for the prison system. That's not a side effect, or an unintended consequence. It's the main reason these laws exist.

Trans people have been oppressed for decades. Centuries. Yes, we haven't always been a cultural fixation or had the Eye of Sauron on us. That happened because we demanded dignity and respect and humanity instead of being relegated to a marginal existence of sexual exploitation and poverty.

Optics are distractions used by elite classes to cover up their motivation for fascist drives against minorities, which is to destroy working class solidarity.
