Looks like @sandwitchdev.bsky.social had an English language update! I might have to go back and play this again. I loved the original but I did switch it to French at times. The story shone through regardless of some writing stumbles. I am curious to see how a new translation tackles it.
Videogame CEOs, consider the exciting opportunities afforded you by shutting the fuck up.
People are saying a firefighting game would be incredible...
Seeing this and realizing you could combine the power wash simulator genre with the flight simulator genre....
We had to evacuate due to the fire tearing through Summerland. We're all good, but it did make me think about how someone should be able to make a wildfire-fighting game that absolutely whips. Imagine the power fantasy of saving homes and lives with cool equipment!
I've been telling people we shouldn't be making video games for years and they just won't listen.
when we mourn le guin, we mourn one of our greatest writers & thinkers. but we also mourn one of our all-time greatest haters
Sharing a KS backing like it's 2016. Check out this person's skits though! They're really funny and he's doing a lot with shoestring effects When your House is Haunted but Rent is Cheap www.kickstarter.com/projects/wem...

One of those posts that just unlocks a whole chunk of memory. I played the hell out of this, fingers pushing so hard my hands shook as I tried to make it far enough to avoid the next unfair but addicting game over
The Red Heat of the Universe: a PC DOS shareware darling that's fiendishly addictive with 'just one more go' once it gets its claws into you. 📺: SkyRoads, Blue Moon Software, 1993
Here's a fun little coincidence I noticed: Every Republican Congressmember loudly blaming Canada's forest management policies for this year's unprecedented wildfires (and ignoring climate change) is a massive recipient of fossil fuel funding. Receipts👇
This game that really cracked my brain open when it came out. I'm so happy Supergiant have been able to keep making great games with incredible worlds. Hope they get 15 more years
On this day 15 years ago, we launched our first game, Bastion. To everyone who helped the Kid survive the Calamity, thank you!!🙏 You're the reason we've been able to carry on as an independent studio ever since.
This VN worked for me when others fell flat. Traits instantly having a satisfying payoff is so good. I got to literally be a disaster bi knight! Plus the music and audio is *chef's kiss* Most impressively, the tone is balanced on a razor's edge of cute and grim. Let's goooo @ceruhi.bsky.social !

Almost all of my console gaming over the last few years has been via *physical* copies from libraries. Losing out on those won't force me to buy a console. It'll just mean I shift completely to PCs 😕
No union employees at Blizzard were impacted by today’s bloodbath—and I sincerely doubt that was because the powers that be think that we’re all vital. Odds are, they wanted easy cuts. Status Quo makes you not easy. The best time to unionize was a year ago. The second best time to unionize is now.
Remember the internet before Google, before algorithmic feeds, before monolithic social media corralled us onto the same handful of apps? When small, *personal websites* and webrings linking them together reigned supreme? Time to bring it back.
Introducing Warp Point, a Web 1.0 gaming blog directory built for 2026
It's a webring! And a website!

This. Five years of my career are on games that don't exist anymore and four years are on games that were never allowed to exist. 😮💨
Nearly every mobile game I’ve ever worked on is gone, “sunsetted” rather than made playable on current OSes. Their titles mean nothing to recruiters and hiring managers, let alone players. Even if players remember them fondly, they couldn’t play them anymore if they wanted to.
I was damn lucky to work with the team that made Everhaven. From the rocks to the vfx to every critter—there was so much care put into everything. Nick wonderfully spells out why that matters here.
Hi there, nice to see you. Professional craftsperson here to say: THE VALUE IS ABSOLUTELY IN CREATING A PERFECT FLOWER POT YOU WEIRD GARGOYLE (1/?)
Been loving @thelastcaretaker.bsky.social. It's got a robot and a boat, which means I basically have to play it. Its closest analogue is probably Pacific Drive? Scavenge haunting ruins and read harrowing log entries in a flooded Earth store.steampowered.com/app/1783560/...

You should take advantage of the incredible fumble that is letting Zaire go. Hire this amazing, award-winning writer
If anyone is looking to hire a Peabody and BAFTA winning senior writer, I am looking for work. I’ve got six years experience in games. Everything from indie to AAA. I am not married to staying in games. I am hoping to relocate to the Bay Area. I am keeping my ears to the ground.

The Score by C. Thi Nguyen is delightful so far. Totally lighting up my brain to read more about the ideas from Agency as Art (which I am still working on getting ahold of). As someone who has always been obsessed with games but not winning, this is giving me some great terms to discuss that!
Duskers is getting a sequel! 10 years later 😅 The Steam post has more info, including the new teaser trailer - featuring the voice of Deonte (our producer). You can even wishlist it on Steam if you're into that sorta thing 😉 steamcommunity.com/games/254320...

“This game was targeted for harassment because it involved this person, or that person” No. Any game release that achieves any broad level of attention now will attract reactionary commentators and their harassment, because generating hatred is how they make their money. It’ll never be enough.
I’m too drunk to answer this kind of serious question. But if there was a concrete answer to this, nobody would make a bad game! We’re all just winging it. Anybody who tells you otherwise is probably lying.
What makes for an interesting choice in game design?
