For many years, Nolan was famous for never doing allowing any online interviews – only magazines & newspapers. All that has changed and he has been front and center in the promo campaigns for his last two movies Oppenheimer and The Odyssey. This interview has gone viral online and it's entirely worth a watch. Yiyang Zhuge is a Chinese political theorist & translator who teaches at Brandeis University, and also a PhD Candidate at Boston College. She conducted an interview with Nolan for the Chinese release of The Odyssey and all 17 minutes of this conversation are worth listening to – view the full video below. I love how she pushes back at Nolan, I dig her philosophical questions about language, being the "bard for a civilization at dusk" (yes he definitely is), and Christianizing this Ancient Greek story. And I also dig Nolan's very thoughtful answers to these ideas. After the original 1982 sci-fi movie & sequel Blade Runner 2049 from 2017, they next created a spin-off series set even further into our dystopian future. Fifty years after the events of BR2049, Los Angeles has been reborn, just not by humanity. Cora, a fugitive in a final bid to stop running, takes on one last identity: a Blade Runner. Forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant days from dying, they hunt a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse their fragile city. Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer star as Olwen and Cora. The ensemble series cast includes Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben, along with Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, Maurizio Lombardi. Full International Trailer for 'Hope' - Na Hong-jin's Sci-Fi Action Film

Plus M Entertainment in Korea has launched their full official trailer for the bonkers epic sci-fi movie made by Korean filmmaker Na Hong-jin (of The Chaser, The Yellow Sea, The Wailing) titled simply Hope. This premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival where it caused a storm with completely polarizing reactions. Did it even belong at the festival? Is it junk? Is it amazing? Is it an instant cult classic? Watch and find out (here is my mixed review). A mysterious discovery is made on the outskirts of a remote harbor town when a monster suddenly attacks. FirstShowing Celebrates 20 Years - Two Decades of Movies & Reviews

20 years ago it all began. 20 years later and we're still here. Today, FirstShowing.net celebrates its 20th Anniversary on the web! Huzzah! June 3rd, 2026 is specifically the exact 20th anniversary of the launch of this movie blog website. The very first post was published on June 3rd, 2006 - it was a quick 3 sentence post about tickets being on sale for the new Superman Returns and Cars movies opening in theaters that summer. FirstShowing originally launched as a movie blog to talk about camping out right outside a movie theater in Colorado for the opening of Superman Returns (here's the old post about that event). All these years later, while I'm no longer camping out for movies (is anyone still??), I am still obsessed with movies and always watching movies. So much has changed over these last 20 years – Hollywood has gone throguh some rough times, the internet is a whole different place. But what hasn't changed is my passion for cinema, my love of the movie-going experience, and my excitement for every upcoming release (especially sci-fi) and new project in the works.
