It's true that there's no compelling reason to level it up past Trained, but investing those 675 points isn't a huge ask. Swimming is not a GREAT skill, but it's NOT the worst skill, and after a quarter-century of this meme, I'm coming out as a Swimming defender.
I love how these moral panics about family estrangement always bring up children refusing to talk to their parents, never the long history of parents disowning children. It's fine if dad wants to kick out his gay kid, not if his gay kid doesn't want to talk to his homophobic dad.

I gotta hand it to her that this is one of the best explanations an MP has ever given for anything. I immediately and intuitively grasped: 1. what GDP is 2. why using it as an indicator of economic health is useless 3. why using it as an indicator of anything else is questionable
The MP for the next constituency over was visiting my house because of an event my mum was having, and she gave the example of "if everyone in the UK had £20 and paid their next door neighbour £10 to come over and vacuum, the UK's GDP would skyrocket despite no additional money entering the system."
Unironically and without sarcasm or critique, the most useful thing a Member of Parliament has ever personally done for me is explain why GDP is complete and total horseshit and nobody should ever use it as a reliable metric for anything.
