The situation in Haiti is terrifying. On Sunday, 150 gunmen swept down on a town to kill, rape, loot, and burn. 22 people were executed in a churchyard. 52 were taken hostage. Stephen Miller mockingly says Haiti is safe and ICE just sent its second deportation flight this month; with kids on board.

Most who vote Democratic this November are voting for opposition. For someone to put more of a check on a lawbreaking, rights violating, power abusing White House. They are *not* voting for compromise to rescue Trump from his mistakes, and some will be disillusioned if that's what their vote gets.

I shrugged at Jeffries meeting Kushner, for basically the same reason Iran talks to him: meeting adversaries is normal. But the choice to make it secret, followed by surprise that Kushner leaked it, is another sign Dem leaders think they're in normal politics with good faith opponents, not a crisis.
