My take, not that anyone wants it, to these sorts of media hounding campaigns is, “Why do we know this person’s name?” As in, “Why is it ‘in the public interest’ that everyone in the country knows the name of a private individual whose doings - right or wrong - are irrelevant to wider society.”

Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI

I'm super excited for this event next week -- Juana is a gem, and her research into translating poets writing in indigenous Mexican languages is *fascinating*. Our discussion will be bilingual Spanish/English and promises to be generous and generative!

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

not to come back to this again but i read the statement in full and once again, respectfully, DANG “We are not called to the legal minimum of hospitality. We are called to the radical welcome of the one who sought out the excluded and the overlooked.”

Incredible statement from the Church in Wales on the ignominious Code of Practice: "The Church in Wales will not use equality law exemptions to exclude trans people from our worship, our sacraments, our pastoral care, or our common life." www.churchinwales.org.uk/en/news-and-...

Proportional Representation would mean that: ❤️ Everyone can vote with their heart 🗳️ No vote is ignored ⚖️ A broad range of views are heard in Parliament 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻 Parties are encouraged to work together and find common ground The new Prime Minister should make it a priority.

Disappointing that Mr Fraser chooses to pit pedestrians against cyclists, particularly describing cyclists as "greedy". Taking his example of Wester Coates, the carriageway is more than three times as wide as the cycle lane. I think we can really see which mode of transport is "greedy".

The Home Office wants to use flawed AI technology to decide if asylum-seeking children are actually under 18. An AI system can't understand trauma, and mistakes could put vulnerable kids in serious danger. Let's demand the Home Secretary halts this plan: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/st...

Tell the Home Office: Don't use flawed AI on asylum-seeking children

The Home Office plans to use AI technology to guess the age of children seeking asylum. This tech is flawed, has a massive error margin, and is less accurate for people of colour. A single mistake cou...

🚨 Despite being prohibited here, French police have been authorised to use water cannons against people seeking asylum - under a £660million deal with the UK. This is a gross display of state sanctioned violence against people seeking safety. Shameful. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

This is a really useful letter template! I'd particularly urge my friends who aren't trans to write to their MPs about the new draft code -- the government needs to know that this is a thing that all of us care about!

Once more for those at the back: There is NO WAY to reliably identify trans people, and certainly no dignified and respectful way to ask any person to prove their sex in a public facility. This will just cause harm to trans people and to cisgender people who don’t conform to gender stereotypes.

Organisations which also want to remain trans-inclusive need to receive support on how to do so within the law. In a similar way, those that wish to exclude trans men and women from their spaces also need to know how to do so without breaching individual rights to privacy. (6/7)
