Seattle city council's District 5 has been held by pro-business backed candidates for a long time. Debora Juarez has held this seat on-and-off for nearly a decade. Cathy Moore won the seat in 2024, but resigned 18 months later. There is a special election *right now* to fill the seat until 2028.
Not just on Aurora Ave, but at the site of Julie Kang’s former bank. You know, her bank she was likely forced to sell because of what the FDIC called “violations, reckless unsafe or unsound banking practices, and/or breaches of fiduciary duty.” Oh you didn’t know? 😄 I’ll have to do a thread soon
