Seattle city council's District 5 has been held by pro-business backed candidates for a long time. Debora Juarez has held this seat on-and-off for nearly a decade. Cathy Moore won the seat in 2024, but resigned 18 months later. There is a special election *right now* to fill the seat until 2028.

Not just on Aurora Ave, but at the site of Julie Kang’s former bank. You know, her bank she was likely forced to sell because of what the FDIC called “violations, reckless unsafe or unsound banking practices, and/or breaches of fiduciary duty.” Oh you didn’t know? 😄 I’ll have to do a thread soon

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

A hand holding a model train with a replica of the same graffiti on the full scale train car behind it.A model train with two graffiti pieces on opposite sides.

shit like this is why i refuse the narrative around MPD being understaffed, underfunded or under-resourced because like another significant chunk of the force is blocking off 7th street especially between chicago & park nobody will explain how they overspent $30 million either

like 20 minneapolis police department cops just arrived at loring towers carrying a box of snacks and eating them the city has already announced the shooter is dead

Outside Oak Lawn’s combo town hall/police HQ, community members are once again protesting a village they have repeatedly described as racist, especially against Arab-Americans.

Fuck you're welcome to buy MY game! #iHunt is such a huge piece of work for just two people. We put so many pages into that game. And pretty much everyone that follows me would have fun just reading it, not even necessarily playing. It's a game about poverty. But from the poor POV.

I get that advertising rules all but it is very frustrating how many people in the replies are asking Olivia to bless so and so publisher when you could buy an independently developed game that would put like 75% of the money you spent directly in a trans woman's pocket.

I’m happy to see @mayor.seattle.gov finally start to chip away at some of this overt extortion from SPD, because a city as rich as Seattle shouldn’t be struggling to afford free meals for children in schools, transit, or road maintenance

nobody in history has ever gotten a bigger "affirmative action" boost than JD Vance. these Yale mfs brought him in, literally taught him how to use a knife and fork, handed him to Amy Chua to learn ruthless sociopathy, and then a tech billionaire bought him a Senate seat over the counter

Ok what the actual fuck, @wired.com!!!! Calling perimenopause a “buzzword” is wild, misogynist work that minimizes a decades long feminist movement to raise awareness about women’s health This article could have been good but instead is … very very bad
