If you follow me and I don't know you, I will very likely block you.

I know people really want to resist this idea, but there’s an increasing pile of evidence that lots of people in positions of power aren’t trying to do some delicate balancing act to keep the peace, but simply agree with the aims and to an extent the actions of the fascists.

In contrast, Donna Jones, the Conservative police and crime commissioner for Hampshire, did not condemn the masked crowds in Portsmouth: "Largely they were peaceful. They were they were making their point, but they don’t want Portsmouth to become a destination" [for asylum seekers arriving].

None of this makes any sense. The Holocaust happened precisely because massive, systematic deportations DID occur. Mass deportation was the primary logistical mechanism used to feed people into Auschwitz, Treblinka, Bełżec…etc.

I don’t know why liberal politicians and media have completely surrendered to this US-based Nazi oligarch even though he’s deeply unpopular in all their countries. It’s a damning indictment of the system.

Trump did well with that same group of apolitical people. These are the sort of voters who then see Trump do exactly what he said he’d do (and what leftists tried to warn people about)…and say “this is terrible, this is not what I voted for” because they thought they were voting for “common sense.”

One key dimension of Musk’s far right propaganda push is his effort to reframe far right extremism as “centrism.” It’s patently absurd to those who follow politics, but it’s effective messaging when aimed at low info voters.

The AfD isn't far right. They are just the first nominally right wing party in Germany to have enough support to beat the anti-White, anti-German coalition that has been running Germany forever.
R Leading Report • @LeadingReport • 8h AfD heads for historic win in Saxony-Anhalt, potentially becoming the first far-right party to lead a German state since 1945.

The holocaust happened specifically because mass deportations weren't allowed to occur. There are speeches from Hitler where he is pleading with the United States and other nations to take in the jews.
The US and the other nations refused.

The guy obviously thought he 'got' me or something, but never saw my reply coming: Math proofs? Who cares about that? I actually asked him: how does anyone's life here improves from a solution to an Erdos-problem? A whole industry was built, for that?!

This whole math proof narrative is in any case tiresome. A while ago I argued in a keynote that GenAI-development is a gigantic waste of resources. Most people in the audience agreed vehemently. Then came a question: well what about the math proofs that stunned mathematicians?

"Like a number of recent AI breakthroughs, it pasted together ideas from the mathematical literature to build a new theorem. Once again, the LLM’s trick is its superhuman patience for assembling puzzle pieces, not the ability to make some profound intellectual leap."

Another one. "The discovery stunned Francesco Fournier-Facio, a mathematician at the University of Cambridge, who studies group theory—at least until he “engaged with this breakthrough as I would if a human had written it,” he says.

It’s the teenagers. My village has done nothing about cars speeding and running stop signs for years but suddenly teenagers have ebikes and they’re talking about new laws and enforcement like it’s the greatest crisis ever of the modern age.

Did you guys know that a widely used transportation technology is encouraging Americans to prioritize speed and convenience over physical activity, with grave consequences for public health? It's called an e-scooter and it's time to finally do something about it.
