its cool how we’ve spent decades anticipating this exact scenario where a cornered iran would mine or otherwise deny access to the strait and the US gov is just like “woah, no idea they’d play this card in response to [operation: no iranian government official left alive]”

If you get into a “who can cut taxes more” battle with the GOP, you’re going to lose because they are far more shameless and antagonistic to the idea of living in a functioning society. Don’t concede to their framing that taxes are nothing but a problem to be solved.
If an official commits an impeachable offense and nobody acts to impeach, it is no longer an impeachable offense. People who oppose impeachment as “pointless” because it seems unlikely to result in removal do not understand this very simple point and seem unwilling to even try to understand it.
