By the way, if you want a great feminist read, I cannot recommend When Women Were Dragons enough. The premise is that at some point in the 50’s, a bunch of women turned into dragons and then went wherever they wanted. It’s queer inclusive, not gender essentialist, and changed my brain chemistry.

A "piece that was killed" is something we hear over and over again working with press promoting Dreams on a Pillow, not just now but across the years. In some cases the content had been fully written & was pulled right before or even after publishing. In others, it never was allowed past concept.
