Finished Gundam X and I have many thoughts. I find the idea that Newtypes as defined in the AW timeline basically didn't exist to be very compelling! As I've often said I find Newtypism to be a metaphor for autism spectrum disorders and many people have tried to narrowly define ASD in reductive ways

Episode 37 of Gundam X is entirely about the main characters being unable to do anything but watch as a new, stupid, horrible war begins around the Moon. They steal a spaceship but again, because they have to climb out of Earth's gravity well, they're going to be late for the (huge unpleasant) party

Something I appreciate about Gundam throughout almost all of its incarnations is that leaving Earth's gravity well is always difficult. Either you've got a massive HLV rocket or a spaceport with a ramp but you can't get out there on your own engines and you're gonna get shot at on your way out
