Been doing a lot of portraits lately. I like watercolor, ink, and drawing mediums 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Uh with my last characters, I curse Zoidberg.
Portlanders, if you like things like “accountability for police,” some businesses you might consider avoiding: Mother’s Bistro Le Pigeon Pink Martini Kachka Flor Wines Phuket Cafe Canard Langbaan Allora Hat Yai Papa Haydn Khao Soi Eem OK Chicken PaaDee Yaowarat Freeland Spirits Fields B&G Wilf’s
Pretty disappointed to see a handful of notable Portland restaurants lend their name to the latest “Portland business chamber in sheep’s clothing” PAC. props for how breathlessly they repeat the word “progressive” in their rhetoric to justify their plan of tax cuts and more cops www.goportlandgo.org
Went to Shakespeare fest and saw Midsummer Nights Dream, lovely, and got engaged, ahhhhh, and then car broke down on the way home and was told ill be jobless at the end of the month 🙃 Did I look too hot to Zues during the proposal and Hera is mad at me? Please Aphrodite, do something
I fucking love this. Christopher Nolan has done exactly what a blockbuster director should do, and Emily Wilson is doing exactly what a classics academic should do. Top marks all round!
I cannot rest from discourse. I will see that film again tomorrow. I will drink life to the lees. Again I will enjoy greatly, will suffer greatly, both with those that love me, and in Pleasantville NY. I am become a meme. Film showing: burnsfilmcenter.org/booking/the-...
If y'all want the hard mode, here, have a brilliant discourse version:
Who is the evil fuck that made an AI video of Nolan Wells’ mom to spread disinformation? We can’t treat AI like tomorrow’s problem while people are being targeted today, and Congress failing to pass meaningful legislation is a dereliction of duty.
You know the upbeat nature of the Bee Gee’s “Stayin‘ Alive” really isnt convincing anyone that the band is doing alright
Knuckle tattoos that say “doin my best“
I've mentioned this before, but: this isn't just Nintendo. When most large Japanese companies in the public eye underperform, most (if not all) of the c-suite will go so far as the relinquish as much as 100% of that year's salary in an act of contrition.
whooo boi found what im gonna be talking about with whoever is nearby and quiet for the next several months
Alright, I’m gonna call this rough draft for now and get started on the final piece. learned a lot doing these lil trial runs #watercolor #traditionalart #process
Honestly, this thread and Keezy’s thread are great. Coming from a film background, studios ALWAYS figure out when something needs to be optioned and licensed. This is standard practice in the industry and comics need to catch up with this reality too.
I think this is a good and compassionate take from Keezy. However, publishing contracts usually contain clauses that specifically say any accusations of academic misconduct, plagiarism, inaccuracy etc are on you, the author, not on them, the publisher. Here is what I think happened--
ultimately the fallout of all this is that cartoonists who aren't necessarily trained in academic citation, history and historiography, and don't have a background in that, will be terrified to draw anything nonfiction. and that's not on the academics who feel slighted. that's on comic publishers

Fun thing about Weird Al: he sought and received permission from every artist he ever parodied, even passing on opportunities when he didn’t get the okay. AI companies did the opposite. Of course he wouldn’t work with them. variety.com/2026/biz/new...
‘Weird Al’ Yankovic Pulled Out of AI Ad Despite Offer to Make a ‘Nice Pile of Money’: ‘I Can’t Be the Poster Boy for AI’
Weird Al Yankovic revealed he was offered “a nice pile of money” to appear in a commercial but backed out after realizing it would involve AI.

OMG AND ON THE WEEK WHEN I STARTED REWATCHING "STATION ELEVEN" AHHHH THIS IS ALL FATED TO BE
Look I WAS ALREADY IN YOU DIDN’T NEED TO KEEP CONVINCING ME deadline.com/2026/03/hime...
The fact that they are calling this “project 2029” says A LOT
Dems' "Project 2029" first major policy proposal: an online child safety plan — narrowing Sec. 230, banning social media for kids under 16, promoting phone-free childhoods and more. Already backed by Cory Booker, Mikie Sherrill, Randi Weingarten + Jonathan Haidt. LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Fun fact: most of the awesome artists you follow don’t believe they’re all that awesome (silly, right?). But, you can totally tell them they’re awesome and repost their lovely posts to remind them that they really are great. 🥰
