Just want to remind folks that this keeps happening. Burials of assumed-important ancients discovered to be women via genetic testing, after decades of them simply being assumed to be male. The patriarchy is incompatible with reality.

The #BronzeAge #UptonLovellShaman's burial in Wiltshire has long been considered an important religious figure & metalworker. It's been barely questioned someone of such status must be male. But now #aDNA analysis revealed that the body is in fact: a woman. 🏺 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Molly Pitcher is the name of a legendary woman who appears across battles in the American Revolutionary War, in a similar sort of way to Mad Max! She's representative of the women on the battlefield who ended up in the heat of the battle. [more in alt]

However, there was a lady named Mary Ludwig Hays , from whom this may have originated from, creating the legend. During the battle of Monmouth in 1778 she was an absolute machine - ferrying water back and forth to the troops who were falling to dehydration in the heat. After her husband was wounded, she took over the cannon and fired til the end.

Margaret Corbin is another contender with a similar story in 1776 while defending Fort Washington. She was the first American woman to receive a pension after she was injured on the field.

And so Molly Pitcher is representative of women "pitching in" (that's not why she's called it, I just thought of that) where they aren't officially there as a solider.

She's shown here ready to load a cannon so easy to add to your existing forces.

I actually think the trillionaire saying his AI tool will remake a movie without the Black and trans actors in it should be a bigger story because it’s a perfect example of why the ruling class wants AI to succeed: so they can remake reality without those they deem undesirable - every nazi’s dream.

These aren't prints, they're traditional putty sculpts. They're made with a mix of Milliput and Greenstuff by our sculptor Alan Marsh. Sculpted at scale, they'll be moulded into silicone or rubber, and then the imprints filled with molten pewter to make the casts. More info in alt!
