When I was a kid my mom smuggled a wedge of parmigano-reggiano back from a business trip to Parma. It was such a revelation that we didn’t even grate it on anything, we just sat there ravenously breaking off pieces and eating it straight. These days I buy the same stuff at Trader Joe’s for like $7
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
