I teach and write, but I mostly keep MA a little extra scary as the head organizer of the Boston Horror Society on Meetup and Facebook. Boo!

remember when you used to have a computer in one room and you’d go to that room for computer time and then you were done with computer time and your brain worked properly

Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of my favorite Universal horror films because it's got a real post-atomic sense of loneliness. The mysteries of the scientific world have been unlocked and now we get to figure out what's left hiding in the crevices.

Not even a Nor'easter could keep people away from the Spooktastic Book Fair on Saturday. Many thanks to the Spooktastic team for letting me spread the word about Boston Horror Society at this awesome event. 📚💀📚

The plagiarism machine I created will likely kill us all, there’s a 40% chance, no, higher, like 75%,or more! But NO I will not “unplug it,” that’s an insane suggestion. The scientific solution is to *give me more money.*

So glad Coyote Vs. Acme made it to theaters. Its success at the box office just goes to show how horribly Warner Bros dropped the ball on this one. If you haven't seen it yet, fix that soon. I give it five out of five sticks of dynamite. 🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨

HALF NELSON was a 1985 Joe Pesci TV series that was cancelled after 9 episodes, but its intro seems to last forever via an escalating cavalcade of absurd cast reveals, underscored by a theme song that feels like a gag gift when you can't license "I Love L.A."...

MULDER [slapping down plane tix]: Hope you packed your rain coat, Scully. SCULLY: Seattle? Mulder it's the weekend, what- MULDER [handing her a file] Confirmed sightings, Scully. This is big SCULLY [eyes wide]: My God Mulder, what am I looking at here? MULDER: The locals are calling it.. JIMOTHY

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences
