I have a friend who is on the RNLI board. They tell me they’ve had a lot of D/D cancellations this week. They crews are getting intimidated by the thugs and are frightened This is NOT this country You know what to do. rnli.org/support-us/g...
Someone recently described the queenofgreens.co.uk as a “nice to have”; not an essential service. I disagree. We need more mobile greengrocers to improve access to healthy fresh produce for all. Thoughts?

Absolutely it has to be made clear to far too many that 40% of UC claimants are in work. I have to say it far too often. 🙄
I think what Badenoch meant to say here is: “British employers are dependent on welfare to subsidise a massively underpaid workforce” - particularly when you consider that around 40% of claimants are actually in work. But that’s just me splitting hairs, I suppose.

One of the most misunderstood points about 1.5°C: Crossing it doesn’t mean we’ve lost. It’s not a cliff edge, and every /°C still matters. Using the article’s metaphor: the climate freight train may have passed one marker... but we can still hit the brakes. theconversation.com/yes-passing-...
Yes, passing 1.5 C of global warming is cause for alarm, but not despair
Exceeding 1.5 C of global warming is a giant warning flag telling us not to give up, but to redouble our efforts to slam on the brakes on climate change.

The ones who remember … The 70+ were the age group who provided the *least* support to the AFD in their victory in the Saxony-Anhalt state election.
If "legitimate concerns" were considered to excuse illegitimate methods, then nobody from Just Stop Oil or Palestine Action would have been arrested. So we know it doesn't. In fact that phrase is only ever used in one context. Only in that context is uniformed mob intimidation "peaceful protest"
Nick Robinson on Today is literally talking about ‘legitimate concerns’ after second night of organised men dressed in black - sorry ‘protesters’ - mobilising en masse in another littoral town. This is how street fascism is normalised
#democracy - it would be a good idea
Under the UK’s non-proportional voting system, the far-right AfD in Saxony-Anhalt would today have a huge, dominating majority of representatives - on a minority of the vote - with the power to be as awful as they wanted.
“Even if you support Labour or you want to give Andy Burnham a chance, voting Green in this election still makes sense because it’ll make him be a better Labour prime minister”. Exactly! #VoteGreen

Masked Far Right Wing Thugs blockading roads in Dover today intimidating people. No arrests Nearly 3,000 unmasked protesters including senior citizens have been arrested at Palestinian Action Marches I’ll just leave that there ..
Despite a ceasefire, the killing continues. And Andy Burnham continues to send military planes to aid Israel.
If you are a political journalist, work in policy / public affairs, are concerned about social justice, have any interest in democracy - if you have any dealings with the state* & any concerns about its relationship with citizens, you need to read this incredible book #PoliceSpiesOutOfLives
Masked men, blockading a port & roads, & apparently refusing to speak to anyone don’t get arrested. Climate protesters, after the summer we’ve had, chatty, non-threatening, visible & open, politely explaining their cause & reason are treated as terrorists. Where the hell are we going with this?
🚨 BREAKING: Patriot Platform, a new far right group launched by Tommy Robinson’s right hand man Daniel Thomas (AKA Danny Tommo) has blockaded the port and several roads in Dover. The masked men are from subgroups of PP, including Sussex, Essex, and South East Patriots Here’s all you need to know.
just stop oil protesters got five years in jail for *planning* to do this to the M25.
Masked protesters block access at Port of Dover
This should have been just as big a news story today as the illegal donation sting and the Nazis in Dover: a woman being assaulted at the Reform conference and Farage watching and laughing.

Just so we are clear: The 83yo priest on the left is a terrorist. The balaclava-clad men on the right are protestors with legitimate concerns
