Since I was foiled by technology yesterday, I am finally here with my review for The Chosen One Con by Trudie Skies, the first in the Lost in the Aether Duology. I loved everything about this book (apart from Incendio) and there is so much I am still chewing over even after reading it more than once

spot illos for R.F. Kuang's Babel - Illustrated edition these were all made at around 4" on the longest size and printed even smaller in the book, so they had to be clear and readable at a small size, while still retaining a good amount of detail spots are really fun to conceptualize and draw!

I also think that there’s something very simple Burnham could do which is empathise with the fear a lot of people are feeling - re. health concerns & immediate threats from wildfires, but also the deep unease many of us feel about summers becoming a thing to dread, and knowing far worse is to come
