i dont care if transgender equality isnt popular. i dont care if someone is skittish about transgender kids participating in school sports. i dont give a fuck. we live in america. one of our bedrock principles, even if we dont execute it enough, is that we are all equal. period.

“We’re not asking for permission to be here. We’re playing.” In February, USA Rugby banned transgender women from competing in women's matches. It was, on paper, a massive blow to the Baltimore Ferals, one of hundreds of teams affiliated with International Gay Rugby. Instead, they kept playing.

Just want to reiterate: the operatives and politicians who do transphobic bus-tossing never account for how much pissing off their own base costs them not just votes but volunteer time, donors and even positive private conversations with friends, neighbors and coworkers.
