BookHive now syncs with your e-reader. Upload your ebooks, browse them from KOReader, Crosspoint, or Readest, via OPDS, and your reading progress syncs back into BookHive.
Damn this Atmosphere hole runs deep. I now "accidentally" have done imports from LinkedIn to @sifa.id and from Goodreads to @bookhive.buzz And what I really like is that I can see people that I follow on bsky there without any extra effort. E.g. @viet.shy.cat seems to be all over the Atmosphere :)
My code repositories on @tangled.org are also stored to this account My blogs from @standard.site are as well, and the books I'm reading and logging on @bookhive.buzz also store there
Happy tot have found @bookhive.buzz I was missing a good alternative to goodreads. Also another example of how nice it is to need only one account that can be uses across all kinds of websites.
Finally got a handle on this. We are now running 4 separate bookhive servers which should make it much more reliable!
So many bots have been crawling bookhive the past couple of days that I had to turn on bot protection on CloudFlare. This makes me pretty sad to have to do this, but I'm otherwise getting hammered with requests. I couldn't even see bluesky because of this

If you’re into books, may I suggest Bookhive, a Good Reads-like reading tracker that is easy to use, open source, runs on AT Proto and is developed by very nice people? I’ve been enjoying using it. bookhive.buzz

I have bought so so so many books on the basis of Bluesky.
Just discovered @shelfcheck.org via @atstore.fyi. I HAVE WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG. It works! I have some notes for improvement, but if you're a @libbyapp.com + @bookhive.buzz user this is a must have.

@brittanyellich.com I just watched your bsky.app/profile/brit... #Atmosphereconf talk. I heard from a few people that you were doing some interesting stuff that I might be interested in, and they were right! I'd love to see if BookHive could add book clubs based on @opensocial.community
My talk from #Atmosphereconf is available to watch! There has been so much energy around groups/communities on ATProto and I'm SO excited to see how things transform in this space!! youtu.be/GVOywon3X-Q?...
After a fearsome battle against bots trying to scrape the site & ruining the performance for actual users. The hive has prevailed! If anyone sees performance issues with the site, please tag me with what you saw!
I'm not sure what took me so long to implement this, but we now have logins that last for 180 days, and if you use the app within that window, you may never see a login screen again!
I went this way after hearing the atprotoconf talk vod about @bookhive.buzz! If I'm way off I hope someone tells me 😅
Finally, Apple got around to approving the corresponding mobile app for the BookHive V2 update! Check it out on iOS: app.bookhive.buzz

I'm feeling very honored today to be able to speak about my work on @bookhive.buzz to so many people at #ATmosphereConf today at 16:00 So many people that I've met and admired even before meeting them in person. It's been such a pleasure, and felt so welcomed by everyone!
hey #booksky this is a bluesky compatible / atproto version of GoodReads. check it out!

Pages now have support for showing links to @semble.so, @bookhive.buzz, @teal.fm (via a 3rd party frontend) and @rocksky.app. Looking into adding support for standard calendar lexicons soon.
I got a t-shirt made for #AtmosphereConf with @bookhive.buzz’s logo on it (so people know who I am). When I went to print it, they said they weren’t allowed to print it because they found the image online?
they always talk about the birds and the bees, but the birds wanna eat me, so kinda rude... ...but at least bees can read there's now more @bookhive.buzz records in biblio.bond than our own books, and still everything just works nicely together!
@bookbrainz.org Maybe this would be of use to you? We've a collection of ~125k books in this DB bsky.app/profile/book...
We now export our entire DB weekly on GitHub, this means that anyone looking to run a bookhive instance can do so without having to bootstrap from scratch. This export does not include any non-public user data, and includes all of the book metadata that we've collected over the years.
i get so excited for decentralized and self-hosting. i have been looking up some AtProto projects. I am trying out @popfeed.social which is an Alt to Letterboxd and @bookhive.buzz an alt for GoodReads. Digging both of them so far.
Added a "Reading" page to my site, sourcing data from @margin.at and @bookhive.buzz. ATProto is _the best_ seth.computer/reading/
