From Tom Edsall’s column. I wish he had specified what he means by “wedge-issue attacks.” I’m also not sure what it means to say that Dems have been “vulnerable” to these things for 60 years. Presumably, he is suggesting that backlash politics has, on balance, harmed the Democrats.

Conservatives realized this would let them kill multiple birds with one stone. Kill women's sports, further humiliate and discriminate trans people, and molest kids

Someone with ADHD who has access to adequate support also has, by dint of their neurodivergence, capacity to think and act in a way that the system that runs the world for the sake of paedophile billionaires can't predict, due to people with that neurodivergence being underrepresented at its helm.

This might raise the point that the current media narrative on ADHD is directly counterproductive to our being useful, predictable labour units. But the answer to that is: the people who decide these narratives have concluded that we are most predictable, and best used, dead.

To add to this: ultimately, the project of eugenics always returns to regulating humanity, homogenizing us until we are each useful, predictable tools that can produce (labor, children, etc.) for the rich and powerful.

This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

Trans womens participation is sports is less a controversy (as experts actively involved in it don't seem to disagree) so much as it is a battleground between people doing women's sports and people who are broadly against it.
