Even if these numbers were correct, they’re counting diagnoses, not the number of #autistic people. When the telescope was invented, we could see many more stars. That didn’t mean the number of stars had increased. We understand #autism much better now. That doesn’t mean there is more of it.

This! #Autism is not the problem, #ableism is. If #Trump and #RFKJr really cared about the struggles of the autistic community, they would be working to redistribute wealth to fund disability support and dismantle #ableist structures. #Eugenics is not the answer!

I’ve never eaten kale and I don’t have autism, so clearly kale causes autism.
I’m hard pressed to come up with any single thing that has been studied as much as vaccines & autism (vaxx safety in general), or as debunked as a link between vaccines & autism. But even more striking is how these people clearly think autism is worse than your child getting a disease or even dying

Sean Kelly@storyslug.bsky.social · 4mo agoLast year I stumbled across a man's suicide note on LinkedIn. He'd gotten laid off and then remained unemployed for so long that he saw no other way out. That's the sort of environment everybody's marinating in.
Yes! And many, many courses force students, even part time students, to do them full time. This excludes many disabled students and students with health issues whose lived experience could be an invaluable resource in these professions.

The system that created Epstein, protected him, and let him thrive for decades, still exists. His market of powerful monsters still exists, and they're still being protected. There is definitely, right now, someone serving the same role he did, being protected the same way by the same people.
When assessing for suicide risk, try asking "What's the closest you've come to suicide?" rather than "Have you ever made a suicide attempt?". You'll get a deeper, more nuanced response. #iaspMinneapolis2024 #ZeroSuicide

JobSeeker is nearly $300 a week below the poverty line. Immiserating people on welfare is utterly immoral and makes it even harder for those who can work to find a job. We're sick of Labor crying poor when the 1% grow their wealth in their sleep. Tax the rich. Raise the rate.
