Spent my morning getting some quotes for the fence post repair I now need, courtesy of an Amazon van driver. If the damage is under £100 then they’ll settle for a voucher. If it is over £100 or you want cash then it goes to their loss adjuster. Having looked on line the adjuster rejects most claims.

Right. Spent my morning day jobbing and while I wait to see if anything further is needed today I shall run some errands and may even clean the kitchen now that I have finally defeated the ants nest that plagued me for almost 6 weeks.

In all the discussions of the latest AI author scandal, I haven't seen enough focus on the ethics of feeding an author's manuscript into AI detection software (just one mention from one anonymous editor). YOU ARE FEEDING THE MONSTER!

This week has been mostly awful but I saw some good friends yesterday and today I finally took the step to get solar panels and a battery installed. I’ve been wanting to do it for ages and it feels good to put it into effect.

Saw a Waymo defeated by horse shit from the Household Cavalry on South Carriage Drive. Every pile it approached it would slam on the brakes thinking it was an emergency, and proceeded to do this a dozen times down the road.

I get a little annoyed by the coverage of the proposed sell-off of the World Cup. They’re not just planning to sell it off. They’re planning to sell it off *to the Trump family*. That should be up front and central.

Guy came to service my wood burner and we got to talking about how I had foxes camped in my garden last summer. Told him I had barely seen any this year only for a very scruffy fox to promptly come up to the back door and stare in at us.

I am feeling very frayed today. Not having a good one at all as everything seems to be going wrong at the same time (nothing major but when you are under a lot of stress and a lot of small things go wrong at the same time it becomes overwhelming).

Ok so this lady says solar panels are getting built on "the most productive farmland" in her area. Which just ain't true at all. It ain't true here in NC either. Where I ALSO hear that talking point over & over again. Smells like astroturf! So let's get the dirt on solar farms & dirt ✨

I genuinely don't know what to do about this. In our diseased information environment, one MAGA-adjacent "influencer" can do more to shape public opinion than mountains of studies or facts. Where are the pro-clean-energy influencers to counter this shit?

This has really pissed me off, if you're in the area and can afford it go and give the cafe owner some money to help fund the kids meals. And if he refuses buy yourself a nice coffee and tip him as much as you can. Fuck Reform taking food from kids in need. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
