This is devastating news. Thinking of Julia's family, and feeling honoured to have known such a wonderful mentor, colleague and friend. Julia's legacy is not just her brilliant scholarship & teaching, but that she showed us the importance of kindness, in all walks of life.

I got a letter from the old TCD panel register saying I had to reregister on the new universities panel register, and there would be no automatic transfer.

As of Cabinet yesterday, one now needs the ability to communicate in order to be considered a citizen. Yet in the first three months of 2026, not a single child in ten counties was given a plan on how the State would deliver them with speech and language therapy. This week’s column @thejournal.ie:
