The EHRC guidance does not apply to workplaces, and trans people are not criminalised for using any toilet in the UK. But the whole point of this - as with Section 28 back in the 1980s - is to intimidate people. Don't give into that fear.

Just a reminder that: - this isn't for workplaces and if your work is trying to implement it scare them over discrimination claims - the onus is on the service provider, not the service user to comply - the code *itself* says enforcement of toilet facilities is unworkable and low priority

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.

Lots to say about this quote from Phillipson but I think a key element is how cis people are understood as 'biological' and therefore as having material needs (services, spaces) where as trans people are an 'identity' and therefore only have cultural/recognitional needs ('not being pilloried').

“I don't want trans people to be constantly pilloried on social media for being who they are and wanting to live the lives that they want to lead. “But also I want women to be able to access the services and service providers to be able to deliver the services that they believe are necessary on a single sex basis for women who have experienced male violence. I don't think those two things ought to be in conflict.”

This legislation is most going to affect us in terms of the cultural climate, in emboldening institutions and bad actors itching for an excuse to justify their litigious urges and bigotry. But we still have friends, family, allies, advocates, and each other. Put that in your fucking paper.

I lied, because “it is a stereotype that gender critical people are nasty bastards” is actually written into this code and sorry you can’t legislate to make people like you

4.100 Examples of stereotypes in relation to religion or belief are that persons who hold or manifest certain gender-critical beliefs necessarily have negative attitudes towards trans people, or that persons who hold or manifest the belief that same-sex sexual activity is sinful necessarily have negative attitudes wards gay people.
