You really should read the accounts of European explorers who encountered Natives in the Americans & Africans. You can see in their own words how they marveled at the cultures these people had produced. They were impressed by their societies. @folukeifejola.bsky.social @invalidhandles.bsky.social

Right, but also: Should the U.S. military be conducting EW operations in civilian airspace in bad weather? That's the crux of it. I don't think WIRED ever makes the assertion that the GPS jamming was *the* cause — just that it could have been a contributing factor, and may have been irresponsible.

I was at a dinner party last where the subject of conversation turned to the NG in DC. Everyone talked about their interactions with them. They want to go back to their families and they are deeply embarrassed at standing around all day doing nothing & looking for shade. It’s a cruel farce for all.
What could up to 2k illegally deployed troop apartments cost, Michael? $148,000? Each?
This went a little different than his nightly interviews with Sean Hannity.
They’ve been pulled away from their regular jobs to pick up trash in DC because of Trump’s fake emergency. What a clusterfuck.
National Guard is now tasked with picking up garbage in DC
The journalist congressman storyline in the new season of Silo is so annoying lol. Immediately highlights how hard it is for writers accustomed to making up a universe as they go along to navigate realism, and also puts a harsh spotlight on the trope-y elements of the show’s dialogue.
The First Circuit got this exactly right. Lawmakers considering similar legislation need to think not only about their own intentions but the intentions of bad actors who may occupy their seats in the future. 🔗 www.freepress.net/news/civil-l...

“Ben-Gvir, who presides over Israel’s prisons as national security minister, has said that the idea was inspired by U.S. President Donald Trump’s ‘Alligator Alcatraz,’ the immigration jail in Florida that was shuttered after reports of horrific human rights abuses.”
An Israeli court has temporarily blocked a plan, cooked up by far right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, to construct a moat full of crocodiles around a notoriously abusive prison that holds Palestinians, over concerns that the crocodiles would be harmed or mistreated.
one thing you realize is Obama + Floyd protests of 2020 basically cooked a lot of elite brains

The word is not used by Republicans in its literal sense - like going to the grocery store, giving money to the cashier, and being entitled to take food away as something to which you are entitled. The word, as used by the GOP, infers that it is an unjust entitlement -- a social safety net gift.
Silly question, but why the pushback? They are entitlements as we’re entitled to them. I wont be surprised if republicans are trying to twist its meaning though
