For most of my life "progressive" has been the left-wing version of "conservative": an umbrella that encompassed a number of other categories (liberal, leftist, etc.). It's what I've usually called myself. Watching the hard left attempt to claim exclusivity is something I'm done putting up with.

What's messed up is that clearly a rising tide doesn't always lift all boats. Medical racism is still a thing. Discrimination still exists even for "universal" programs. I think it's telling that these groups don't actually want to tackle these problems head on.
