This whole situation is reminding me that Citizen app should not cost $20 bucks a month and this is the type of thing that maybe could benefit from a cooperative governance model and a public broadcast network.

Cat’s one of the best people I know. I’m proud to call her friend and thought partner, and I look forward to doing more intentional collaboration with her in the future. Her work helps me learn better, live better, advocate for myself, and build better teams - what more could I ask for? 2 things⬇️

We hear about competition all day long. Win goals, win games, win business, win against the other applicant, win against the other team.

Many builders in the Open Social Web are discouraged by the lack of funding in the ecosystem, slow pace of feature development (e.g. private accounts), and “low” adoption relative to incumbents like Meta. In my keynote I emphasized multi-generational struggle & movement building. People who faced…

We can’t democratize the web without democratizing our corporations. @goldavelez.org is doing pioneering work to do just that, cleverly grafting novel affordances of collectivity on top of familiar structures like the SAFE and PBC.

This latest Encyclical is really one for the cyberneticists and those who care a lot about the challenges inherent in measurement and all it obscures, especially those concerned with maintaining humanity in the face of technical systems www.vatican.va/content/leo-...

I carry this quote by the late Barry Lopez with me everywhere I go. It serves as an evergreen reminder and encouragement for me to stay focused on what matters in the midst of darkness, contradiction, paradox, and loneliness.

A quote by Barry Lopez from Arctic Dreams: “How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life, when one finds darkness not only in one’s culture but within oneself? If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox. One must live in the middle of contradiction, because if all contradiction were eliminated at once life would collapse. There are simply no answers to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light.”
