I didn’t even live here during his reign. I left in 98 and returned In 2023. His tenure is marked by all that is wrong with the “ratchet party.” It was clear he inherited a mess yet he resisted any attempt to turn things around.

THIS. Gerrymandering blocked Dems from gaining unified control over state government in GA, NC, TX, and maybe OH. Nearly 1 in 5 Americans live in those states. Many House races remain uncalled, but my very prelimiary estimate is gerrymandering cost Dems 2 dozen seats—only NC’s map fully fell apart

We just OVERCAME it. But we'd have even MORE seats, and different candidates could have won those seats, without the gerryamndering.
Staying on Twitter made all these folks wildly out of touch, while also propagandizing them into being more hateful and desensitizing them into accepting unspeakable abuses. They should free themselves!

I keep saying that it was a lot more exciting when the tech industry still had some competition and offered some opportunity for workers. Humbling Musk, after all the tycoons tried to model themselves after his most despicable behaviors, will only be good for the country *and* for actual innovation.

After the 1974 midterms, Dems perfectly openly said: we have an agenda for structural reforms and the protection of democracy against criminal executive overreach. After 2006, there was a "both-and" that combined the Iraq War with, say, the Katrina response: Bush has bad policies *and* incompetence.
They shipped the thing to monitor the person before they shipped the thing to monitor the agent.

For me it was a 93 Ford Escort that looked just like this. Drive a manual for 30 years after that, until the end of last year. I miss it, but our mileage is a lot better now.

The irony of all of this is the original reason to use something like WordPress was because it was a tool to build a website very quickly. It’s completely lost the plot.

People forget that J6 was violence, not some court shenanigans. Trump couldn't make the court and procedural shit work in 2020 either and sent a mob. Seeing people say "Trump will fail in court" and it's like yeah, and he did before. Somehow even the people on our side seem to forget this too

That's what happened. I think people forget what J6 actually was. It wasn't about states rights or courtroom antics
As a bonus: We have exactly 2 clocks, at this point, that don't update the time themselves, our microwave and stove. Honestly, it's helpful not having to really think about any of it.

When you remember that, to the GOP, the only legislate election is one they win this makes sense. They’re not worried about fraud as the law is written and we need to stop pretending they are. To them “voter fraud” is non-white people voting and voting for a non-GOP candidate in general.
